Christies Beach Parkrun #461 - A Beautiful Seaside 5k Run! Christies Beach PARKRUN! My last parkrun in South Australia for now! Stunning out and back, slightly hilly parkrun along the coast of Christies Beach 🌊. Only steady inclines which was nice and I took it easy today after having calf issues midweek which meant I could take in the sights! Aim was to pace a 24 min time and I think I’ve done quite well at doing that 😆. Was great to meet some more people who enjoy the vids, Lisa and one of the volunteers, both coming up and saying hi 👋 Next up will be in New South Wales! Don't forget to like and subscribe for more parkrun event reviews: @SheppeyRuns​ Or check out my vlogs on: @sheppey10 If you want more information on the run, you can follow my strava here!   / strava   Christies Beach Parkrun run starts just south of christies beach SLSC, head north along the esplanade, follow the path to christies creek which you cross at the entrance to SA water. Follow the path back to the beach, then continue north to Marine drive. Then turn around and retrace your steps past the start, keep going to the final turn around just past beach road,then sprint to the finish at Christies beach SLSC. Buggies/prams are allowed at this parkrun and dogs are also allowed. There are public toilets right next to the start line too by the SLSC. As the route is all on surfaced paths, road shoes are reccommended! In terms of how busy the parkrun is, it is an average size parkrun with around 217 runners/joggers/walkers a week. However, it does get a little congested at the start so ensure you are starting near the front if you are looking at trying for a PB! The weather was cloudy and not too warm on the day which was perfect for the run! There aren't many trees, so in the sunny months I can imagine it gets pretty warm! The atmosphere was great and the volunteers made it a fun morning celebrating just their 461st event! Every Saturday I take part in a 5K run trying my hardest to get under 20 mins. Christies Beach Parkrun is a great run to tick off the "C" on the alphabeteer challenge and is the 14th "C" I have done!
