FRASER ISLAND Pt3 - Heading To The Top, Sandy Cape - Roothy

https://www.roothy.com.au Fraser Island really gets into your soul after a couple of days, full lizard mode kicks in and you can literally feel your body recharging like you plugged into into the REDARC! We headed for the northern tip of Fraser Island, Sandy Cape which is one of the most spectacular places on earth. Because the tourist buses and hired vehicles aren't allowed this far north you are guaranteed some secluded and peaceful camping. The team needed a feed on the way so my mate Richard's misses Tukta decided that as I have had a few issues with rolling things lately, she would show me how to make proper spring rolls, you know the round ones that stuff doesn't fall out of. Once we reached Sandy Cape it took no time at all to get the camp set up, the Handbrake and I have the set-up of the BCF bunks, swags and awnings down to a fine art bu now, but she was still eyeing off Brad's roof top tent from The Bush Company. After my usual failed attempt at catching fish, I set about knocking up dinner for the crew, this was a Roothy special 'Bush Beef Stroganoff'. Setting up for cooking is so easy with the gear from BCF, they really have thought what's really needed. Because of the rules about open fires on Fraser Island we set up the Oz-Pig to give us some warmth in the camp and to help finish off the dinner. We spent the evening chilling out around the fire and soaking up the magic of this amazing place. There's more from this trip coming up soon so stay tuned!
