THE PRISON GANG THAT CONQUERED CALIFORNIA - The Mexican Mafia [La Eme]

The Mexican Mafia, also known as “La Eme,” began as a California prison gang whose goal was to end the feuding among Mexican gangsters behind bars and create a unified organization. This goal was achieved almost immediately, but La Eme didn’t stop there. Today, the group controls not only prisons but has expanded beyond them, creating an extensive network of Latino gangs in Southern California. Now they deal drugs on both sides of prison walls, collaborate directly with Mexican cartels, and control entire neighborhoods on the outside. They have their own ideology, their own code, and a clear structure—and it’s no coincidence that they’re called the mafia. Meet La Eme, on the other side of the law.
