Inaugurazione Istituto Serpieri Castel di Sangro

(CASTEL DI SANGRO, September 11, 2025) – A total investment of over one million euros, including funds from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) and the school's own budget, will provide the community with a safer, more modern, and more efficient school. The new headquarters of the "Arrigo Serpieri" Higher Education Institute in Castel di Sangro (L'Aquila) was inaugurated this morning, coinciding with the first day of classes. The ceremony, attended by the highest civic, religious, and educational authorities, marked the completion of a structural and energy redevelopment project of primary importance for the province and region. "A safer, more modern, and more efficient school, a future incubator for our students, with significant development benefits for the entire region," declared Angelo Caruso, President of the Province of L'Aquila and Mayor of Castel di Sangro. "With this school, we want to give our students all the tools they need to grow and be competitive in the workforce. This will be your second home," he added, addressing the students. The project was funded with €867,624 from PNRR funds, supplemented by provincial budget resources to cover the total investment. The work included structural reinforcement with the application of carbon fiber tapes and epoxy resins, along with extraordinary maintenance and energy efficiency measures, making the building a model of innovative and sustainable school construction. The event was attended by headmaster Francesco Di Girolamo, general director of the Regional School Office (USR), Massimiliano Nardocci, who called the new building "a model to be followed at the regional level, beautiful and safe schools to guarantee a future for our students," the vice president of the Regional Council, Marianna Scoccia, and regional councilor Maria Assunta Rossi. Also present were the Director General of the Province, Dr. Paolo Collacciani, and Eng. Alessia Fagnani, Director of the Public and School Buildings Department of the Authority. President Caruso thanked all the professionals involved in the complex design and construction process: Roberto Capodacqua, designer and project manager, Encema Costruzioni Generali Srl, architect Giovanna Oliva, acting as Sole Procedure Manager (RUP), and Chiara Recchiuti for her support. The decision to inaugurate on the first day of school symbolically marked the beginning of a new journey for the student community. "Inaugurating a safe school is always a milestone for the entire area, because the school represents the soul of the community, and the end of a construction project is the beginning of a new journey," commented Vice President Scoccia. "We are proud to have delivered much more than a building," President Caruso concluded. "Our goal remains tangible results: planned investments, completed work, and schools ready to welcome our young people." The day concluded with a convivial moment hosted by the "De Panfilis-Di Rocco" Hotel Institute in Roccaraso, led by newly appointed director Luigina D'Amico. 🎥 Join us on YouTube! 📺 👉 Subscribe to our channel and activate the bell 🔔 to stay updated on new videos. 👍 If you like what we do, like and share with your friends! 💬 Let us know what you think in the comments: your opinion matters!
