A few years ago, Freightliner approached Heil® and asked if we would collaborate to develop a new Cab-Over-Engine offering that would improve a driver’s overall experience – from getting in and out of the cab – to improved visibility – and providing more elbow room for the driver. From our standpoint, customers get the proven Half/Pack® with Odyssey Controls as standard that deliver a level of performance and smooth operation that no one can duplicate. The articulation of the arms operate automatically so the driver can simply carry on as usual without learning a new method of dumping. In addition, the Econic/Heil offering can be upgraded with the Heil Autonomous Lift Option – or H.A.L.O., to make commercial route collection even simpler – and safer.
