While it can be used without their Armoury Crate Software, many gamers would find the onboard controls limiting and would have to download the software to make fine adjustments to their Actuation and Rapid Trigger Settings. ASUS offers a lighter version of Armoury Crate (Armoury Crate Gear) that specifically works for this product.
