SAUDADE - YAMANDU COSTA
An old Habanera composed by Yamandu Costa around the year 2017 The "Saudade" was a tribute to the great Cuban composer and guitarist Nico Rojas. The cuban habanera genre was one of the most important aspects of the Latin American culture. I am delighted with this kind of feeling and with this musical expression, with which I have always loved. In this song, the desire to get closer to that language is clear, but naturally, we also feel a deep Brazilian spirit inviting itself throughout the theme. The name of the song refers to the longing for a past time, full of nostalgia, typical of the music of that time and those genres; it is also what one feels walking through the streets of Havana, which seem suspended in time.
