List of Periods that Count as Contribution Time https://bit.ly/3cuwMFU Diseases that Entitle You to Disability Retirement    • Video   ----------------------------------------------------- Contribution time is the entire period during which you made contributions to the INSS (Brazilian Social Security Institute). These contributions can be made in two ways, as a mandatory or optional insured person. Mandatory insured persons are the following: ➡ special insured persons who work in a family economy regime. ➡ self-employed workers. ➡ CLT (Consolidation of Labor Laws) employees and domestic workers. ➡ Individual contributors. ➡ Individual micro-entrepreneurs. Optional contributors are generally unemployed individuals or students who want to keep their contributions up to date. However, some periods are also counted towards contribution time, such as: ➡ periods of paid leave, when contributions were deducted. ➡ periods of maternity leave. ➡ periods of paid availability, when contributions were deducted. ➡ periods of employer or self-employed activity that occurred before August 26, 1960. There are a few more periods. I recommend you check my first recommendation to see the complete list! For contributions made up to November 12, 2019, the count is done from date to date. But for contributions made from November 13, 2019 onwards, the contribution time is calculated by counting the full month. Now I'll tell you about the minimum contribution time for each type of retirement considering the rules of the Pension Reform. In the case of the "basic" Scheduled Retirement, you will need to be 65 years old if you are a man and 62 if you are a woman, 20 years of contributions for men and 15 for women, and also fulfill 180 months of qualifying period. One type of retirement that falls under the scheduled retirement is Special Retirement. In this case, you will need 60 years of age + 25 years of special activity for low-risk activities. 58 years of age plus 20 years of special activity for medium-risk activities. And 55 years of age plus 15 years of special activity for high-risk activities. The next type is Rural Retirement. In the case of the Retirement for People with Disabilities, you need to be 60 years old if you are a man and 55 years old if you are a woman, and you also need to have 180 months of contributions. In the case of the Retirement for People with Disabilities, the age requirement remains the same, but there is also a requirement of 15 years of contributions. Finally, we have the Permanent Disability Retirement (disability retirement). This is due to insured individuals who have suffered an accident or been affected by an illness that has left them totally and permanently unable to work, without the possibility of rehabilitation in other professions. For this retirement, 12 months of contributions are required, as well as the status of insured person and also total and permanent disability. ⏲ Chapters: 00:00 Introduction 00:49 Simple and Easy Calculator 01:25 INSS Insured Persons 02:45 How are contributions calculated? 04:59 How long do you need to contribute? 08:22 Contribution Time x Waiting Period ------------------------------------------------------ ➡ Need some social security assistance?
