Calm Before the Storm | One WILD Day of MTB at Khao Eto

Some rides go according to plan... others are full of surprises... Join us on our recent trip back at the incredible trails of Khao Eto, Thailand, for what turned out to be one of the most eventful rides we've had in a long time. Lots of riders on this day, which usually means a bit more chaos anyway! The day started with trail maintenance—clearing bamboo, repairing features and getting the trails ready to just session and ride again and again. But as the day unfolded, the jungle had other ideas. Actually on the first feature on the first run, I lost my footing over a rock drop I have never had any issues ever before. When stabilising myself, I rolled my knee and re-damaged my knee which must have no cruciate ligaments left at this stage... What followed that, after I got over the initial agony... was a mix of fast technical descents, and then after some heavy rain that completely transformed the trails, we also had slippery roots, hidden puddles, close calls, a puncture (for good measure!), a couple of sketchy overtakes and a few crashes. Along the way we also introduced a few riders to the new log drop for the very first time. It seems to be a nice addition to the more technical short DH trail! Even after that crash that left me dazed (and unknowingly launched my DJI microphone into the jungle!), the adventure wasn't over...
