Estrecho de Bolvonegro July 2026

With: BaqPaqJaq - Ronnie Booth - Rick Mead - Chrissy Booth The Bolvonegro Strait is a natural gorge with vertical walls and up to 20 meters high, excavated by the union of the Alhárabe and Benamor rivers. Located in the municipality of Moratalla (Region of Murcia), it offers a hiking trail of about 6 km (round trip) surrounded by pools and great geological wealth. The Bolvonegro trail is 6 km long to do it on foot, which runs through the ZEC (special conservation area) of the Natura 2000 Network, where the Alhárabe and Benamor rivers meet to form the Moratalla river. A protected natural area hidden by its own nature of great natural, geological and archaeological interest. On the way you will cross the two rivers, which together give life to the Moratalla River, a tributary of the Segura. Following its course, you will discover the secrets of the formation of a jewel of nature: The Bolvonegro Strait, a name that derives from an older one -Gorgonegro-, documented for the first time in 1575 by the Knights Templar, which means black throat.
