After that, I took another long-distance bus to Ghardaïa, a unique desert town known as one of the most conservative places in Algeria — and even the world. This journey took me from the Mediterranean coast to the heart of the Sahara. Ghardaïa’s atmosphere, culture, and people felt completely different from anywhere else in Algeria so far.
