Theoretical physics: insider's tricks
Theoretical particle physics employs very difficult mathematics, so difficult in fact that it is impossible to solve the equations. In order to make progress, scientists employ a mathematical technique called perturbation theory. This method makes it possible to solve very difficult problems with very good precision. In this video, Fermilab’s Dr. Don Lincoln shows just how easy it is to understand this powerful technique. Related videos: • Feynman diagrams • Quantum electrodynamics: theory
