Your Mind Can Lie to You; The Story of the Lost Axe
Sometimes the mind does not see what is truly there. It sees what it has already decided to believe. In this video, I share the old Chinese story of the man who lost his axe and became convinced that his neighbor’s son had stolen it. Once suspicion entered his mind, everything about the boy began to look guilty — his walk, his voice, even his face. But when the man later found the axe exactly where he had left it, the boy suddenly looked innocent again. The boy never changed. Only the story in the man’s mind changed. This story is a powerful reminder about assumption, suspicion, perception, and how easily our thoughts can distort reality. Sometimes what feels true is not the truth. Sometimes it is only fear, pain, or an old belief speaking confidently. Before you judge, pause. Before you accuse, check. Before you believe every thought, ask yourself: is this true, or is my mind creating a story? If this story speaks to you, share your thoughts in the comments, like the video, and subscribe for more life lessons and reflective stories. #LifeLessons #WisdomStory #YourMindCanLie #Perception #SelfAwareness #MotivationalStory #ChineseStory #PersonalGrowth #Mindset #BrightBravo
