Testing Our New Flat Car: Will it Hold The Rails?
Meet the MLBK 103, the newest flatcar on the Mill Brook Railroad. I just finished building it. I had too much Leather Brown Rustoleum on hand and not enough Hunter Green paint, so I decided to do a new paint scheme for freight cars. I think it came out nice. Well, the paint is finally dry, and we’re putting it straight to work with a heavy load test: 12 bags of wood pellets (480 lbs) to see how this Plum Cove flat car handles the weight. It’s a trial by fire as we battle low batteries on the 70, nasty frost heaves, and a "problematic" switch. Plus, the 103 proves itself as the only car that doesn't derail during the entire ordeal!
