Quilt Block: Diamonds Are Forever AND Everything You Need To Know About Piecing String Blocks

UPDATED for pattern/template instructions below in comments: When I made mine, the pattern was available from Free Spirit Fabrics. I can't find it online anymore. You have two other choices: 1. Purchase the book String Quilt Revival by Virginia Baker & Barbara Sanders. 2. Take a piece of typing paper 8.5" by 11" and cut the 11" edge to 8.5" making a square. Fold the square in half on the diagonal. Open the paper. Using one side where you have a fold line, mark two marks 2-1/8" from edge on two adjacent sides (draw one dot and the turn the short corner and draw another dot). Again, this is on one end of where you have the fold line showing. After that's done, use a ruler to mark a dot 8.5" from the 2.18" dot (either one is okay) on the center fold line. You now have your shape on the paper, including your seam allowance. You can make a template if you wish.
