Hello, after a long wait, Brawa has finally released their DR Class 171 train set. Here's a direct comparison with the Brawa DR Class 172. The former comes with a trailer car, the latter with a control car. The Class 172 set is therefore Brawa's oldest, even though the Class 171 set is the older of the prototypes. This allows for a direct comparison between the two generations. The newly released set even has sound functions, but due to the lack of a coupling mechanism, it's more of a single-ended vehicle. So, moving the power car is the problem. You could attach a standard N-gauge coupler, but that certainly wouldn't look good. And I have no idea how the taillights would look then. But see for yourselves how bravely the model struggles through old PIKO track.
