I enjoyed a three-hour "culinary train journey" aboard JR Kyushu's special train, "Aru Train." The train's interior is a calming, classical space crafted from maple wood. The beautiful kumiko (Japanese wooden lattice) and coffered ceiling make it the perfect relaxing getaway for adults. The Aru Train once operated as a "sweets train," but now serves a full-course meal featuring ingredients from Kyushu, which was more authentic than I expected.
