Fojutowo is a charming settlement in the Tuchola Forest, famous for its unique hydrotechnical monument. Its greatest attraction is the longest aqueduct in Poland (75 meters), where a river (Czerska Struga) flows through a tunnel under another river (the Great Brda Canal). Most interesting facts about Fojutowo: 👉 River crossing: This is one of the few places in Europe where two watercourses cross perpendicularly to each other without mixing. 👉 Ancient inspiration: The structure, built between 1845 and 1849, was modeled on ancient Roman aqueducts. 👉 Record-breaking dimensions: The canal bed is 9 meters above the valley floor, and the entire structure is 75 meters long. 👉 Prussian precision: The Great Brda Canal was built in the 19th century primarily to irrigate meadows in the Czersk region.
