New South Wales floods isolate over 50,000 people, communities devastated
Four people have died in floods that have devastated parts of New South Wales on Australia's east coast leaving 50,000 people still isolated. Dozens of roads remain closed due to flooding including the main highway between Taree and Port Macquarie. The Insurance Council says they’ve already received nearly 2000 claims and they’ve declared it a ‘significant’ event. But many people still haven’t been able to return to their homes or businesses to assess the damage.
