ArcheAge Free to Play Survival Guide - Making Gold, Gearing & What You Can Do without Patron

How to earn gold, gear up and generally play ArcheAge to it's fullest as a free to play non-Patron player! This video is full of tips and gameplay strategies I've collected from the Alpha & Beta. Things might turn out a little differently at launch but hopefully this gets you started! ArcheAge is a Hybrid subscription / free to play game. It has a cash shop where a lot of things purchased from the cash shop can be traded amongst players for gold. It is possible to do everything in ArcheAge without paying a single real world dollar - but only with a bit of hard work. By Default as a free to player you cannot: Own Land, Build Houses or have a protected farm Pay taxes on any land you do own Trade on the auction house However you can work towards all these things! ------- So how do you earn gold, gear up and basically earn your way in ArcheAge as free to play? Questing! - This will provide you leveling gear and some starter endgame gear by itself as well as more than enough gold to buy an Auction House License from another player. You will also have some gold to reinvest in other activities that interest you. Dungeons! - Dungeon drops can sell pretty well and can also be quite useful to your character. As F2P you can run dungeons as much as you like and this can be a great source of cash. Plant hidden farms - grow materials you need for trade packs or materials to sell to other players. Trees can be very hard to hide and have a long risky timer but smaller plants like those used in alchemy or most trade packs can be much safer to grow. Raid hidden farms! - The flip side is explore and steal other people's unprotected farms. Wood can be especially valuable and finding a large unprotected tree farm can net you hundreds of gold in wood. Explore - venturing off the beaten path can net you wild trees and crops. This is more of a bonus than a reliable source of income but it can be a great way to kill some time. Become a bodyguard - hire yourself out as a mercenary to patrons doing trade runs and protect them from pirates. If you are good at PvP you could make this a regular thing. Play Auction House Sim - once you earn your way to an AH license you can learn the market and start flipping items on the Auction house for profits, even as a non patron. PvP! - Although this is less of a way to earn an income it's a great way to spend your time and you wont feel limited at all as a non patron in PvP. Join a guild and make friends with patrons. - Through the family system it's possible for patrons to share access to protected farms and their houses with non-patrons.
