SImple Shed Pad and a Drainage Overflow for a Repeat Customer
In this project, we return to a home where we installed a drainage system about 4 years ago to solve a serious water issue. During heavy rain, water was moving toward the back door and creating a real concern for the homeowner. We installed a shallow stone infiltration system under the patio and walkway due to a high water table. Since then, the system has done exactly what it was designed to do — keep water away from the house. Over the past 4 years, the system handled nearly everything, with only a small puddle forming near the driveway during a couple of extreme storms. Now that we’re back to install a 9x9 shed pad, it made sense to go ahead and add an overflow to handle those rare, heavy rain events. One thing we always focus on is protecting the property while we work. All excavation and soil handling is done on boards to prevent damage to the lawn, patio, and surrounding areas.
