My Friend (Agency for Instructional Television, 1975)

One of a series of short films intended to help 11 to 13-year-old cope with a range of social and emotional problems. This title deals with racial and ethnic differences and tells the story of Virgil, a young Navajo, and Eddie, a white boy, who have been friends for years but find their connection fraying as they leave elementary school and move on to junior high. Both are pressured by friends in their own ethnic groups to stay away from one another.
