"A CASA MALIPIERO" CON FRANCESCO SOCAL

"At Malipiero's House" - a Musikdrama production Interviews by: Marina Grasso Artistic insights by: Luca Zanetti Video and editing: Tina Fasan Artistic direction: Elisabetta Maschio Recorded at the Gian Francesco Malipiero House-Museum in Asolo, 2021 "At Malipiero's House": a series of interviews conducted by the Musikdrama Association in the Foresto Vecchio house in Asolo, once owned by Gian Francesco Malipiero (Venice 1882-Treviso 1973). In the austere warmth of the small building where the celebrated composer lived for nearly fifty years, just outside the heart of Asolo, the Malipiero Music Center Foundation preserves the Maestro's memory in small rooms bathed in the sun of Asolo's "Hundred Horizons," amidst a multitude of books and objects he loved to collect, and overlooking the garden and the path leading to the cave where Malipiero chose to be buried. A captivating and fascinating place, a "House Museum" that is rarely open to the public, yet we had the privilege of visiting, also to remember the preciousness of a house where not only was much of Malipiero's vast catalogue composed, but where the Maestro cultivated relationships with the entire musical and international world. We thank the Fondazione Centro Musicale Malipiero for allowing us to welcome our guests to this extraordinary home, hoping these will be only the first opportunities to share with the public its charm, steeped in music, history, and culture. The audio of the video is included on the CD "Klezmer" (2010), produced by the Réjoussance Ensemble, coordinated by Francesco Socal.
