The idea was simple: I headed to Sonidero Latino's anniversary party because I was really looking forward to hearing Sonido Samurai and seeing how this new phase felt after so many changes. Everything pointed to me finding exactly what I came for… but as the night went on, the plan changed a bit. Between wandering around the dance floor, listening to other sounds, checking out different sound systems, having a beer, and simply soaking up the atmosphere, I ended up having a very different experience than I had planned. In the end, I didn't get to hear Sonido Samurai's new DJ because he had to leave too late, and I decided not to stay for that part of the event. But surprisingly, I didn't leave with a bad taste in my mouth. On the contrary, I ended up discovering other acts, seeing how the anniversary celebration unfolded, and having a better time than I expected.
