PM 'threw a grenade’ into vaccine debate and ‘walked away’

Shadow Minister for Women Tanya Plibersek says Prime Minister Scott Morrison’s intervention in the vaccine issue has only caused “chaos” and “uncertainty”. “He’s just kind of thrown a grenade into the middle of this debate and then walked away, leaving chaos behind him,” she told Sky News host Alan Jones. Ms Plibersek said she thinks it is "really important" for Australians to get vaccinated but Mr Morrison “introduced this element of uncertainty” about the use of the vaccines and then went “into hiding”. “If new information comes to light we have to consider that new information but at the moment the vast weight of medical advice and opinion is that it’s right for Australians to get vaccinated," she said.
