In April 1520, during the last Polish-Teutonic War, Działdowo Castle became the target of a Polish attack. The fortress, guarding a crucial border area, came under cannon fire, amid smoke, chaos, and the growing threat of a siege. A forgotten episode of the war, in which the fate of the former Teutonic Order's lands, the ambitions of the Teutonic Knights, and the strength of the Polish military were at stake. Was Działdowo just another stronghold on the map of the conflict, or a symbol of the impending end of the Order's power?
