Grandfather Dies Trapped in Fire as House in North Bekasi Burns A fire that engulfed a house in Teluk Buyung Village, Jalan Perjuangan RT 03 RW 08, Marga Mulya Village, North Bekasi District, Bekasi City, on Thursday morning (July 23, 2026) resulted in one death. Mustofa, Commander of Platoon 1, Company A, Bekasi City Fire and Rescue Service (Damkarmat), said the victim was a male resident with the initials S (70). S's body was found by firefighters on the porch of the residence, lying on his back. "The victim is believed to have escaped from that room. However, because the fire was so intense, he couldn't escape," Mustofa said at the scene on Thursday (July 23, 2026). Mustofa explained that S was found dead alone. S is known to have lived alone, and her children only visited her residence occasionally. "The victim lived alone in the house. But her children sometimes came to deliver food; she had two children," he explained.
