A Song About "The Least of These" | County Tyrone

https://andyrogersmusic.com/ireland - Welcome back to the next stage of the Writing a Song in Every County in Ireland project. This time we're returning to County Tyrone, where a song has begun to emerge from a connection between Psalm 68 and some of the words of Jesus. When I first sat with the Psalms allocated to Tyrone (Psalms 8, 38, 68, 98 and 128), I noticed a recurring theme: worship and justice seem to belong together. Psalm 68 describes God as: Father to the fatherless Defender of widows One who sets the lonely in families One who leads prisoners into freedom Those ideas eventually led me to Jesus' words about caring for "the least of these." This song is my attempt to explore that connection. It's not quite finished yet, but this is the most complete version so far. There may still be a few lyrical and arrangement tweaks before the final recording, but the heart of the song is now beginning to reveal itself.
