However, it's not in the same subfamily; Spanish is Romance, and German is Germanic. This means that, being related languages, there will be some similarities, though not many, since they don't belong to the same subfamily. Even so, with these similarities, German doesn't seem like a particularly difficult language. I hope you find my explanation of basic German grammar helpful. A tip for remembering gender more easily is to create a glossary with each new word you learn and write the words in different colors for each gender. For example, masculine in black, feminine in red, and neuter in blue.
