Stefan Raming-Freesen from Oberlangen (Emsland) shows us one of four modern chicken barns, each 2,000 m² and housing around 38,000 birds. A special feature here is the separate-sex rearing system – hens and roosters are kept separately to simplify the initial processing and make the rearing process more efficient. The barn is equipped with troughs for improved animal welfare, automatic drinking water flushing, and the Earny 2 heat exchanger for energy savings. Thanks to the heat exchanger, Stefan has been able to save around 50% on gas. Everything is conveniently controlled via app or PC using the Big Dutchman system.
