We are not experts, so there may be errors. Hi everyone! In today's video, we'll talk about the night-blooming jasmine, especially my own, which has had a lot of problems since it was born. The night-blooming jasmine, or maidenhair fern, scientifically known as Cestrum nocturnum, is a shrub that can reach up to 5 meters in height depending on the climate. It blooms, but its flowers only open at night and give off a captivating fragrance, hence its name. My night-blooming jasmine has had many problems. First, its leaves yellowed from overwatering, then it had an aphid infestation, and it was also attacked by snails and slugs. I treated it with garlic and onion infusion, soapy water, and tea tree oil, and it has finally sprouted, as you can see in the video. It's beautiful, filling my entire garden with its fragrance, and we can finally enjoy its nighttime scent. Its flowers last from early spring to mid-autumn, depending on the climate of each area, but that's generally the case. They like temperate climates, and a spot with partial shade would be ideal because they need some sun to bloom. However, if you have a harsh summer, the night-blooming jasmine doesn't tolerate high temperatures, nor does it withstand the cold, much less frost. Temperatures below 0°C are unacceptable. Water every two days in summer and once a week in winter. When the top of the soil starts to dry out, you can water again. It doesn't like drought, but it also doesn't like waterlogging. I use a very infrequent drip irrigation system, and it seems I've found the perfect amount. The easiest way to propagate night-blooming jasmine is by taking cuttings. Choose a woody part of the plant that has buds and transplant it to a pot. In about three months, you'll have well-formed roots and a completely new plant. Night-blooming jasmine pests and diseases Aphids Whiteflies (mainly) Spider mites Potassium soap is a good ally against these pests. I hope you like the video.
