Twenty years without knowing how she was. Twenty years watching my granddaughter grow up—from afar, in the supermarket, by chance. And I wasn't even allowed to greet her. My name is Helga Richter, I am 67 years old, and I was a faithful Jehovah's Witness for 40 years. In this video, I tell my true story. It's about disfellowshipping, a practice deeply ingrained in the organization. I witnessed my own daughter being disfellowshipped simply for asking questions.
