The line from Würzburg to Gemünden is one of the busiest two-track freight routes in the country with around 10 to 12 per hour. This programme looks at the line north of Würzburg, where we call in to a number of stations and photographic spots to view the non-stop action. Filmed in the late summer of 2022 we see a whole host of different loco classes and trainsets, including ICE sets diverted on to this route as a result of engineering work. Classes included are: 203, 215, 101, 140, 152, 182, 185, 186, 187, 192, 193, 1293, 401, 402, 403, 411, 440, 445, 482 and 648. Where known, freight train details are included to add to the information conveyed by the film. The station as Zell is our first location where we then head north to the station at Retzbach and the nearby fields - a great area for photographs - we continue north to Himmelstadt, the station at Karlstadt, the popular road over-bridge to the north, then on to the long sweeping curve at Harrbach, before concluding our programme from the junction around Wernfeld, where the line from Schwienfurt joins. The programme offers a great look at this popular region and is highly recommended should you ever visit the area.
