Kaalam-The unending time… (2005) Produced and Directed by Ramachndran K Kaalam is a documentary film about the art and life of the legendary percussion maestro late Pallavur Appu Marar.. He had a painful childhood. An absentee father and limited traditional schooling moored in him an unflinching faith towards the God Lord Shiva. He believes his first Guru is Lord Shiva. He has only received six months of formal training on percussion art. His genius, high degree of creativity, diligence and determination made him a maestro, second to none. The film won the first Kerala Kala Mandalam Award for the most outstanding short film on performing arts.
