This is the first Modest Mouse record to not have Eric Judy or Jeremiah Greene (RIP) on it, which you would think would make the last remaining original member, singer songwriter, and frontman Isaac Brock stray further away from the signature jangly, redneck twanged indie rock sound, but it's actually the closest they've come to finding it in years. Aside from a few dips, this has Isaac's best songwriting, lyrics, and least amount of cringeworthy experimentation since becoming a "maximalism over minimalism" band. THE IQMB RATING SCALE: 1-3/10 = dog shit 4-6/10 = yeah, whatever 7-10/10 = hell yeah IQMB SCORE - 6.9/10 - evan says its a hell yeah BEST TRACKS: third side of the moon, picking dragons pockets, remember yourself, absolutely necessary never, impossible somedays WORST TRACKS: i cant talk right now What did you think of this new Modest Mouse record?
