We boarded the former cargo ferry Ibiscus from Taniyama Port in Kagoshima Prefecture to Nishinoomote Port on Tanegashima and Miyanoura Port on Yakushima. As a former cargo ship, it has a different atmosphere to a regular car ferry. There are almost no services, but there are vending machines and it seems like it would be okay to jump on board. We really enjoyed the night view of Kagoshima Bay and the starry sky. Please take a look if you have time.
