Teaching a Kick-Back (Pop-Up) Stand for Obedience and Rally
Three different methods for teaching your dog a "kick-back" stand, in which the dog's front feet remain in place and the dog pops up into the stand by moving it's back legs out. In a kick-back stand, the dog does not creep forward. Creeping forward can take the dog out of heel position, or cause the dog to move too great a distance when performing change of position exercises. Method 1 - teach the dog to walk backwards Method 2 - teach the dog to jump up and touch your hand Method 3 - teach the dog to keep it's front feet anchored Brought to you by Noarlunga City Obedience Dog Club Copyright free music by Kevin McLeod
