Connections between ancient Sanskrit and modern English (Hindu Vedic)
About 5200 years ago and before*, there was an advanced Vedic civilisation centralised around the city of Hastinapur . Sanskrit was the main language of central Asia, called Bharat. But lands to the west were becoming a more desirable place for migration. That was particularly so after the huge Kuruksetra war, India’s decline and the drying of the Sarasvati river. Many of those who migrated west from central Asia were what we call the Indo-Europeans. Now the modern English language is made of a variety of influences, including Greek and Latin. And the original source of all these languages is Sanskrit. Elements of some Sanskrit words exist in today’s English language. Words can that are still recognisable. This video shares some examples. *In the Hindu scriptures, it is described that before 7000 BCE, King Yayati ruled the entire world from what we today call India.
