HS2 Delta Junction Water Orton Viaduct | How the Deck Is Built

This drone video shows how the deck is built at the HS2 Water Orton Viaduct within Delta Junction, one of the major structures taking shape on the high speed route in the West Midlands. The footage begins with an overview of the works before focusing on a precast concrete segment unit being driven along the viaduct deck to the swivel crane. From there, the segment is lifted and carefully placed into position at the end of the deck, showing one of the key stages in the construction sequence. This is a close look at the method used to extend the viaduct deck section by section. The video captures the transporter delivering the segment along the deck, the swivel crane taking the load, and the final placement of the unit into its new position. It gives a clear view of how these large viaduct structures are assembled during construction. Filmed at HS2 Delta Junction near Water Orton, this update shows both the wider scale of the site and the detail of the deck building operation. If you are interested in HS2 construction, viaduct engineering, precast segment installation, swivel crane operations, and major infrastructure in Birmingham and the West Midlands, this video gives a good look at the process in action. All flights were carried out in accordance with CAA rules and within VLOS at all times. Filmed on 07.04.2026 Music by    / @sergepavkinmusic
