While Sigel may have been a little past his prime, there was no question that either of these players were capable of winning this event. They had both recently won Sands Open events, and Varner would end the year as the Player of the Year. Billy Incardona is joined by Buddy Hall and Grady Mathews in the commentary booth, and it is a true pleasure to listen to these three friends chat during this match.
