This Sunday, September 7th, is Brazilian Independence Day and the day thousands of Brazilians take to the streets for the Cry of the Excluded. The demonstration offers a popular counterpoint to the civic-military parade. This year, the event, now in its 31st year, has the motto: "Caring for our common home and democracy, a struggle is every day" and will take to the streets of several cities across the country.
