Blane Chocklett's Jerk Changer: Step-by-step fly tying by Conrad Botes

According to Blane Chocklett's original design, the Jerk Changer is an articulated fly that when stripped, displays a ton of erratic movement due to the multiple linked shanks in its build. Here, Conrad Botes ties the Jerk Changer, intended for targeting freshwater streamer-eating fish, using Blane's Chocklett Chenille as the main body material. Conrad says, "The key is to try to make the tail portion the same length as the head portion. This will ensure optimal movement, where the tail follows the head of the fly as it's stripped." Check out how he ties them in this video. JERK CHANGER MATERIALS: Hook: Grip 21571BN #2 Linkages: Game Changer Shanks or DIY Tail: Hen hackle Body: Chocklett chenille Into fly fishing?
