The punk band TERRORGRUPPE wanted to offer hope, comfort, and an epochal protest song against the horror bards in these times of need with their song "Der Rhein ist tot" (The Rhine is Dead). But the record company absolutely refused to release it, obsequiously and preemptively deferring to the cash cows of the Kelly Family. They, after all, had a business deal with the same company. Only when their labelmates from "Die Ärzte" intervened and threatened to record the song themselves if necessary did the record executives cave. Thus, in the spring of 1996, the single "Der Rhein ist tot" (The Rhine is Dead) was released and immediately shot to number 1 on the Alternative Charts. In all the back and forth, it was unfortunately completely forgotten that the band had actually wanted to shoot a video for the song. Bad luck. But now everything is alright. Almost on time, with a measly 21-year delay (and on the same day as the reunion album of the Kelly Family, which the song mentions), the video clip finally arrives. The live version of the offbeat punk classic was filmed at SO36 in Berlin in early January 2017 and is a little appetizer for the live double album "SUPERBLECHDOSE" (Superb Tin Can). Get ready for guitars! Punk rock guitars. And drums and bass. And finally, organ too. And of course, screams, cheers, and insults.
