Drawing on children's rights activist, Marian Wright Edelman who says 'you can not be what you can not see' Dr. Sabrya Carim challenges outdated stereotypes and misconceptions, advocating for greater diversity and inclusion in STEM fields.Using storytelling that shares being left at the altar to breaking barriers as one of the pioneering Muslim women in STEM, She celebrates the achievements of women who have shattered barriers and made groundbreaking contributions to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Dr Sabrya Carim is a trained scientist, with a PhD in Cell Biology. Sabrya has worked in lab-based research for 10 years across two continents, before transitioning into science publishing. She is now a science editor working at Nature Cell Biology, a high-profile journal that publishes scientific research. Sabrya is part of a minority of women from an underrepresented ethnic group working in science. She is passionate about science and communication and advocates for women and girls in science. Sabrya is on a mission to increase the representation of diverse women in science and STEM roles.
