Featuring Makwando, this powerful poem is a meditation on grief, remembrance, and legacy—a tribute to those who have fallen, and a declaration that their spirit lives on in those who remain. The title carries weight—honoring not just one figure, but all warriors who have fought bravely and left this world too soon. Every child who never blew out birthday candles. Every sibling, friend, and loved one whose life was cut short by Sickle Cell Disease. The poem captures the raw, unanswerable questions that accompany loss. But it does not end in despair. It rises into hope: "No be end this. Na de starting this." The fallen become ancestors. They watch over us. Their legacy lives on in our memories, our actions, and our love.
