Making My E36 Lighter! - Carbon Fiber Battery Box + Radiator Mount Design

I’m finally back working on my BMW E36 Super Touring inspired track build. First up, I replace the old steel battery mounting plate with a lightweight carbon fiber battery box, comparing the weight difference and test fitting it into the car with a compact lightweight battery. Every bit of weight saving counts when building a proper track-focused machine. After that, I take you through part of the design process for the radiator mounts, planning how the cooling system will be mounted and what the next fabrication steps will look like. This build is all about function, weight reduction, and motorsport-inspired engineering, and we’re getting closer to bringing this E36 race build together.
