Teddy Atlas on Pulling a Gun on Mike Tyson, Training 18 World Boxing Champions (Full Interview)

In a recent interview with VladTV, legendary boxing trainer Teddy Atlas recounted his early life growing up in Staten Island, New York. He spoke fondly of the historically green neighborhood as being symbolically on top of a hill, while the tougher neighborhood of Stapleton was at its base. Drawn to this harder world, Atlas soon found himself in trouble. After skipping school, he was involved in an altercation that resulted in him getting badly cut across the face, which required 400 stitches. Later in the interview, Atlas detailed his entry into amateur boxing and his relationship with legendary coach Cus D'Amato. He also talked about his interactions with a young Mike Tyson before breaking down his career as a boxing trainer who's worked with over a dozen world champions.
