The State has called its first witness in the trial of alleged mastermind Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala and his co-accused. The accused are standing trial in connection with the attempted murders of businessman Joe Sibanyoni and five others, media personality Tebogo Thobejane and three others, and musician DJ Vettys and two others. Investigators say two firearms allegedly linked to the attempted murders of Sibanyoni and DJ Vettys have been recovered. Forensic and ballistic evidence also forms part of the State’s case.
