5th July Morning Service Speaker Rev Stephen Roger

Humility: Example, Exemplified, Expected — John 13 On the eve of His crucifixion, the Lord Jesus does something no one expected: He kneels and washes His disciples' feet. In this message from John 13, Rev Stephen Roger unpacks how Christ, the eternal Lord of glory, took the lowest place to teach His disciples — men still quietly arguing over "who was the greatest" — that true greatness in the Kingdom of God is found in a humbled, broken heart. Along the way we see the picture behind the picture: it was never really about dirty feet, but about hearts that needed to be washed from sin. Drawing out three themes — Humility Example, Humility Exemplified, and Humility Expected — this sermon traces how Jesus' whole life models the servant heart He calls His people to have, and why the daily prayer "forgive us our trespasses" is a lesson none of us ever outgrow. Whether you've walked with Christ for years or are still wrestling with what it means to come to Him, this message is a searching call to lay down pride and find pardon at the cross. 0:00 Lead In 00:21 Welcome 01:10 Call to Worship 02:14 Prayer 03:11 1st Hymn 05:51 Marker 18 09:06 Prayer 12:58 2nd Hymn 15:47 Teaching Time 17:16 Sermon Content outline 18:01 Example of Humility 26:03:00 Humitity Exemplified 37:02:00 Humility Expected 41:57:00 3rd Hymn 44:44:00 Communion 55:33:00 Closing Hymn 58:18:00 Closing Prayer 58:30:00 Lead Out
