He completed his general Ophthalmology training in Melbourne, followed by glaucoma fellowships in London at St Thomas' and Moorfields Eye Hospital. He was awarded PhD in glaucoma through the University of Melbourne, for research into recovery of optic nerve cells in glaucoma models. Dr Fahy is principal investigator of a surgical clinical trial launching in Australia this year, comparing new glaucoma drainage devices.
